If, during a pre-settlement inspection, the house is found to be in poorer condition than when the buyer viewed it, the buyer could quite possibly make a claim against the seller.
CLAIMS = WASTED $$$$
We don’t like wasting money, so we advise all our clients to clean their homes before moving. (Or rather, once they have moved out).
Morally, you should clean your former home because it’s the right thing to do. And because Karma is NASTY.
What is a Building and Pest Inspection?
A Building Inspection is an important check to complete when buying a property. The building inspection report is a written account of the property’s condition. It will include any significant building defects or problems such as rising damp, movement in the walls (cracking), safety hazards or a faulty roof.
A Pest inspection involves a full inspection of your home for any evidence of termite activity and/or evidence of dry rot damage, or moisture conditions that could lead to an atmosphere for wood destroying organisms or termites.
